Can MCI intervene between a dispute between a doctor and a medical association?

No, the MCI cannot intervene in a dispute between a doctor and a medical association.

In its order, MCI-211(2)/2011-Ethics/, the MCI observed: “The Ethics Committee considered the matter and noted that this is a complaint by one Dr. BKV his main grievance is that IMA which is an association of medical practitioner has taken a decision to expel him from the membership from IMA for exposing Pepsi or Dabur endorsements. This is a dispute between a member and the association. It has nothing to do with violation of Ethics Regulations of MCI. Therefore, the complaint of Dr. BKV cannot be entertained as MCI has no jurisdiction in the matter.
